However, working directly on the cause of the overweight state by improving diet and including exercise, the body is able to do what it is programmed to do and that is to redress the balance between what you eat and what you burn as energy, thereby not only bringing the body back to its ideal weight, size and shape but keeping it there in the long term. Your health is everything and when you are in good health, life is good. Of course, the best and most powerful weight loss solutions do not simply come to you if you are spending all your free time slumped in front of the TV set on a sofa. You are going to have to make some kind of effort to help yourself. And this is I believe where most people who call themselves failures fall down. They give up to easily and really don’t put enough effort into their own welfare.

To win, whatever it is you set out to do (in this case lose weight), you have to make yourself do things that you may believe you can’t do. But when you really think about it, there is nothing you cannot do that anyone else can do. We are all born with the same set of mental faculties that enable us to push ourselves to greater heights of success. It is those that choose to use the faculties that gain success because they are being smart about losing weight, while the rest who are too lazy or simply don’t believe they can, fail.

So get yourself out of the failing place, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and persevere! When you are determined to succeed in losing weight, then you will succeed if you keep at it and keep at it until you get it! Quitters never do that, but winners always do!

If you’ve tried a load of different things to try and lose some weight but have had poor results or even no results to speak of, then you could be approaching the whole thing the wrong way. Sure, you may have been staying true to your diet or even worked hard in the gym three times a week or whatever, but to really get results takes a mindset that is as determined as it is capable of working smart.

Of all the many good and useful tips for weight loss that you may be in possession of, probably one of the most powerful is that of using your own mental abilities to help you to get results. That doesn’t mean turning yourself into a mastermind or super hero, but it does mean harvesting the mental abilities that everyone has to place yourself into a positive frame of mind and then becoming motivated, determined and eager to lose the amount of weight that you want to lose and then having the perseverance to keep going no matter what until that end has been achieved.

There are many physical things you can do to that end, like running to lose weight or swimming or even going for long walks daily. And there are many diets you can place yourself on that will help you. The trick is to combine the two along with that frame of mind that id positive, expectant of success and will not allow you to quit.

Being smart about losing that excess weight is the way to go if other things have failed you in the past. That;s because when you rely on yourself to get results and not exterior things, then as long as you don’t allow yourself to quit, then you can never fail!

A lot of people who really need to lose some weight spend far too much of their time on the sofa dreaming about how they will do it without ever actually getting off their lazy behind and bringing all those dreams into reality! I mean running around the streets or around a park if you have one nearby. It doesn’t have to be like you’re training to run a marathon, either. Just enough to make you feel like you have done something worthwhile, where you can do rather more than just relax and lose weight.

If you haven’t trained for a while, you should start slow and only run a short distance. Then gradually increase the distance each day until you have reached a really useful run that has taxed your muscles and made you out of breath and covered in sweat! That’s how you know you’ve worked hard enough to earn a pat on the back! Then you can do it all again tomorrow in the happy knowledge that you are working for your health as well as for a better, slimmer figure!

In our caveman days, this meant making use of all that adrenalin to either initiate fight or flight. That is, if we are under attack by a man eating tiger, or a marauding warrior from another tribe, we can choose to fight it out or sun for our lives. Either way, the adrenalin will give us the extra impetus to do either. Modern man has no such immediate outlet for that adrenalin and stress, unless he is going in the ring with another boxer or is going to fight it out with whoever is about to fight with him (or her). What more often happens is the boss will be giving you a hard time and it will be causing you stress because your fight or flight response has been activated.

What you have to do is say yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir, and swallow it. What your body wants you to do is either punch his lights out or run away as fast as you can!

When you’re at home, you can reduce stress by relaxing and this is one of the basic weight loss facts that you can put to good use. Exercise deep breathing techniques in a quiet place or learn some yoga. It will help you beat stress and allow your digestive system to be more efficient and store less fat.
